SUTINA GREEN

Sutina Green is a Co-Founder of FUEL-Families United to End LWOP which was founded in 2017 with five other family members. Her husband Steven Green, was serving a Life Without the Possibility of Parole sentence but was commuted by Governor Brown in November 2018 after almost 28 years incarcerated. She currently has friends serving an LWOP sentence and is fighting for their freedom as well. Sutina is the Life Without Parole (LWOP) Project Manager in the Children’s Rights Division of Human Rights Watch based in Los Angeles. She has more than 10 years of experience in California criminal justice reform. As the wife of a survivor of a life without parole sentence, she has more than 20 years of personal experience with the harsh realities of the sentence. Sutina is a passionate advocate for Justice Reform, in advocating for bills at the California State Capitol, and helping incarcerated folks as well as their family members with the commutation process.
